    This 24-word phrase is the *only* backup of your crypto. If you lose it, you lose your funds. If someone else finds it, they can steal your funds.

  4. Verify Phrase: Your device will ask you to confirm your 24 words to ensure you wrote them down correctly.

Step 3: Run the Genuine Check ✅

Ledger Live will now perform a "Genuine Check." This is a cryptographic test to ensure your hardware device is a legitimate Ledger product and has not been tampered with. Simply follow the prompts on your device and in the app.
